The Quiff

What it is:

A rock-and-roll icon. A pomp without pretense. A long on top, short on the sides, high-volume sex magnet.

What to say:

Ask your stylist for a quiff pompadour. They ought to understand. If you get a blank stare, run. But if you feel awkward saying the word “quiff” for some reason, tell them you want your hair clippered tight on the back and sides, with enough length on top to pile upwards and attract attention.

How to build it:

1. Towel-dry a clean head of hair. Wrap the towel around your naked waist so you don’t distract yourself.

2. Get a squirt of Reuzel Grooming Tonic and spread it nice and even between your hands.

3. Tug the Grooming Tonic through your hair, working through from crown to tips.

4. Finish drying your hair with a blowdryer, using a Denman-type brush to direct your hair back and up.

5. Once your hair’s dry, you’ve got a couple options. You could use Reuzel Blue Pomade for a shiny rockabilly look. Or Reuzel Pink Pomade for a greasier, biker-just-in-from-the-highway style.

6. Comb any stray hairs into place, and for more height lift the front and top up with a pick-type comb.

7. The quiff can be worn a bit less orderly than your classic pomp, so feel free to make this style your own with your fingers, someone else’s fingers, or a spin around the block on the nearest hog.
